The Annual Monte Rio Variety Show marks its 100th anniversary in 2011.

Members of the Bohemian Grove provide the entertainment for an evening of music, comedy and theater to celebrate their friendship with the Monte Rio and Russian River communities. The Bohemian Club members contribute their talent and technical skills for a night of special entertainment to raise funds for local charities. Noted Bohemian members and entertainment stars such as Art Linkletter, Merv Griffin, Bing Crosby and Phil Harris have performed in years past and current members such as Clint Black, Tom Scott, Steve Miller and Roy Rogers carry on the tradition every July on the banks of the Russian River. With a uniquely wide range of acts, from Jazz to Classical, from Country to Rock, the Show has been a Russian River tradition for 100 years.

The 100th “Monte Rio Variety Show” begins at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 28, at the Monte Rio Amphitheater. The Bohemian Big Band conducted by Rich Welker will perform during the pre-show.

Join your neighbors and friends for the barbeque, hosted by the Monte Rio Fire Services Foundation beginning at 4:30 p.m. All proceeds from the food vendors go directly back into the local Community.
